My Idol

Idols are images of statues or people who are idolized. Cheung  and Yue define idols as people who are talented, accomplished, have status, or physical appearance that are recognized and valued by their fans. everyone have their Idols, and of course that includes me too. i have one idols that I was amazed at what was produced, his name is Wedha Abdul Rasyid.

Wedha Abdul Rasyid

(born 10 March 1951) is an Indonesian graphic artist. He is known as the creator of the genre WPAP (Wedha's Pop Art Potrait) or FMB (Boxed Marak FotoFoto Marak Berkotak), for his services he is called the father of Indonesian illustration.

He has been working as an illustrator since the 1970s. Starting in 1977, when he joined Hai magazine, he made many illustrations, especially works of fiction by Arswendo Atmowiloto and Hilman Hariwijaya. One of the well-known works of fiction is Lupus. In that magazine he also worked on portraits of world figures who were covered by the magazine.

In 1990, Wedha then launched a new way to draw facial illustrations. This is done due to decreased vision due to age which has reached 40 years so it is difficult for him to draw faces in a realistic and detailed form. Wedha then tried a cubism-style illustration for his drawing. This style then grew and became increasingly popular as part of the pop art style even today. This illustration style is called Wedha's Pop Art Portrait (WPAP), some even call it Wedhaism.
